For the first time in 9 years, a full time position has opened up on The Nat & Drew Show on QMFM radio, a division of Bell Media, in Vancouver. We’re looking for a new Senior Producer with deep experience in the following to join our team:
Responsibilities:
• Content generator. You find the hot, interesting topics of the day and put your spin on them.
• Social media is second nature to you. You generate and create engaging posts for our Facebook, Twitter & Instagram platforms.
• Develop ideas for short videos; film, edit and post.
• On-air voice when called upon to join the show. It could be in studio or out on location to do cut-ins or produced pieces. Some "on location" work might need to happen outside of regular show hours.
• Board Operation
• We rely on you to keep our show organized. You will be liaising with other departments, booking interviews & will need to be able to clearly communicate with the rest of the team.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Producer with strong board operation skills
• Able to generate original ideas and think creatively about how to communicate them to audiences
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor and adapt content for our audiences and platforms
• Knowledge of the radio market, different station and program styles and audience demographics
• Able to work calmly effectively under pressure, react quickly and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations around radio production
• Energetic, positive, hard-working and self-motivated – and you need to be a morning person – we start early!
• Excellent communication skills, complemented by diplomacy, empathy and patience, along with the ability to build rapport and draw information from people
• Valid Driver’s licence, clean abstract will be required
