SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager, Hospitality is responsible for managing all event and non-event hospitality spaces to ensure memory making moments for Target Center’s guests and clients. This will be achieved through effective management of Hospitality event staff, ensuring guest satisfaction in all assigned hospitality areas (e.g. clubs and suites), oversight of food and beverage areas within those spaces, and assisting with ticketing procedures for all hospitality spaces. This demanding position requires a flexible schedule, which will include evenings, weekends, and possible holidays.
JOB SPECIFICS
• Partner with the Director, Hospitality and Sr. Manager, Hospitality to review and recommend day-to-day operational procedures; with a strong focus on PT Event employee performance and exceptional guest experiences.
• Model and reinforce exceptional guest service delivery to provide consistent and outstanding service delivery; implement and follow Target Center’s “ONE” program; oversee guest issues and complaints and resolved escalated matters as necessary.
• Manage the performance and conduct of all Hospitality PT event employees to provide exceptional guest service at all Target Center events.
• Maintain the proper Hospitality image and generate positive public relations though effective management of departmental standards, including but not limited to cleanliness, proper uniform, and professional appearance.
• On event days and in conjunction with other Target Center departments, actively ensure that all building preparations have been completed by visiting all premium/catering spaces to ensure all set ups have been done properly as well as are operating efficiently and accurately.
• Initiate and book rentals for premium spaces on non-event days.
• Participate in operation meetings (weekly), departmental meetings, and staff meetings as needed to support smooth coordination of Hospitality activities throughout Target Center
• Work closely with team staff to provide and deliver premium level tickets to clients; execute orders for donated tickets as approved
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with external staff including; Levy, Timberwolves and Lynx, and others as needed to ensure efficient operational performance, excellent customer service and presentation quality
• Perform other tasks/projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with supervision of up to 20 PT Hospitality staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum education level of: AA/AS Degree (2-year) (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
• Area of Study: Hospitality/Hotel/Restaurant management
• A minimum of 2 years of related work experience
• Requires at least 1-2 years of experience and prior experience in a management role
• Ability to work long hours and flexible shifts including: mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced event driven environment
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Must be punctual and dependable
• Must be able to generalize, evaluate, and make decisions without immediate supervision
• Ability to multitask and delegate duties when necessary
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
1. Prior experience working at a major sports venue.
2. College degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality management is desirable. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative
