The Product Planning, Development, and Marketing Group includes all the functional areas that work together to develop instructional materials that meet current pedagogical and market needs for PreK-12. Content is developed for a wide range of media formats, including interactive digital media as well as print. Colleagues within PDM have varying expertise including the following: subject-matter expertise across all academic subject areas, design, art and photo management, production management, quality assurance, content engineering, and permissions and licensing.

We are looking for a Sr. Social Media Manager.The Sr. Social Media Manager, Content Marketing is a strategic and driven social media and digital marketing expert. Under the leadership of the Content Marketing Director, the Sr. Social Media Manager will play an instrumental role in developing and executing customer-focused social media brand strategies.
In this role, you will write compelling social content for various channels. You will help to develop, execute, and manage social media education for employees across HMH, authors, and thought leaders. You will play an active role in listening and monitoring social conversations happening around education trends, the brand, and its products to gain insights and provide reporting to key stakeholders, as well as spot opportunities for strategy development. In this capacity, the Sr. Social Media Manager will also work closely with key internal social media practitioners and the internal design team to lead the creation of engaging visual and written content for social media promotion of key initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategy and Development
• Provide day-to-day strategic support for Social Media to the Director, Content Marketing
• Act as a point and expert resource on social media best practices for all departments
• Collaborate with various stakeholders across the company to continuously add-value and help develop their social media programs
• Help build and optimize social media and content marketing programs focused on consumer engagement and improving brand awareness and consideration for HMH
• Implement brand-specific and strategic follower strategies and influencer outreach
Audience Expertise
• Provide deep expertise driving rich social experience for a K-12 educator audience
Content Management
• Execute and scale a holistic community management strategy across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
• Collaborate with Content Marketing Managers to develop, maintain, and socialize a company-wide social media and content marketing editorial calendar
Reporting and Analytics
• Real-time monitoring of social channels for growth and engagement
• Oversee day-to-day brand reputation monitoring, research, and reporting using social media listening tools
• Monitor and stay up to date on relevant trending topics and changes to social media platforms. Identify new tools, technology, and trends
• Partner with Social Media Manager to develop and distribute regular executive reporting
Conversion
• Identify and develop opportunities to align and integrate social media, marketing and sales to drive leads and acquire new customers
Partnership
• Provide support to develop and foster internal alignment and integration with key stakeholders on social media marketing practices including: sponsorships, brand strategies, events and corporate communications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field
• 5+ years of social media experience in a corporate environment or agency
• Experience marketing B2B solutions or experience in publishing industry preferred
• Understanding of K-12 competitive landscape to inform strategy
Knowledge and Skills
• Deep knowledge of social media channels and Management/reporting tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and Social Chorus

Physical Requirements
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
