Finance Analyst, Content, Brides
This position is based in New York and reports to VP, Finance & Business Development and partners with the editorial team to manage expenses, rights and permissions, retainer contracts, and overall editorial financial operations. This position is intricate to the Managing Editor position and works in conjunction with the ME.
Job Overview
• Manage expenses and process systems associated with financial operations.
• Serve as key liaison to rights and permissions and manage retainer contracts.
• Execute all editorial financial reporting and communications to maintain consistent, measurable expense management.
Tactical Responsibilities:
• Create and manage yearly content and operating budgets for the brand.
◦ Create assignments and contracts for print and web in PeopleSoft
• Working closely with Creative and Photo Director/ Department to manage overall issue and web costs to budget.
◦ Responsible for the marked copy of each issue, marking both text and photo and working with Licensing & Permissions to complete the vet.
• Meet monthly with EIC/ME to review editorial expenses and provide financial analysis on content and direct expenses by department.
• Legal liaison for daily rights and permissions issues in conjunction with the editors. Draft contracts and rules for promotions and sweepstakes, in conjunction with in-house counsel and consumer marketing. Follows up on winner selection and handles paperwork for sweepstakes
• Approver for T & E, invoicing and database invoicing maintenance.
• Work closely with Editorial team across all departments to achieve fiscal KPI’s.
Skills Required:
• At least 1+ to 2 years’ experience in finance and or editorial media
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a mature individual
• Ability to excel in a fast paced/deadline-oriented environment
• Highly organized with attention to detail and a skill to multitasking with great results
• Superb Excel skills, PeopleSoft knowledge and financial analysis a firm requirement
• Large capacity to retain information and learn new systems
