Direct AMC’s Digital Media (AMC, Sundance, BBC America, IFC, WeTV, AMC International) products delivered across OTT, Mobile and Desktop and affiliate MVPD partners: analyzing product performance, developing business requirements for new product ideas and features, managing day-to-day updates to the applications and web site, scale and grow platforms across all brands.
The Digital Product team is responsible to innovate and define consumer facing, multi-platform products.
The Director of Products, Consumer Platforms will have an expert understanding of UI/ UX frameworks, excellent problem-solving skills, versatile communication skills, and proven leadership developing systemic solutions. Must have proven success and strength in the following areas:
• Consumer facing digital media and entertainment products
• Data driven design optimization
• Responsive design, mobile app and OTT consumer platforms
• Minimal Viable Product (MVP) based product development
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of product owners
• Scale growth across platforms and brands
• This role will report into VP, Products of Digital Media for AMC & Sundance
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and influence the product roadmap related to all consumer facing platforms Define Minimum Viable Product for new products – prioritize and define user stories, champion agile practices to execute on the user stories Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Legal, TV scheduling, Ad sales and ops, content and business intelligence teams Develop tactics related to increasing performance across key user metrics, such as visits, repeat visits and user acquisition, including social sharing of full episodes and social activity around them Oversee wireframe, prototype, proof of concept/ visual designs for new product ideas Moderate design workshops for brainstorming new ideas – document and prioritize design changes, prioritize and define candidates for A/B Tests Oversee vendor selections Motivate and retain product manager talent Provide full operational management of TVE platforms: Ensure proper publication of full-episodes according to the AMC schedule of streaming full-episodes and promoting episodes in an affective manner on website and apps. Collaborate with the advance platform team on full episode content rollout for all AMC brands.
QUALIFICATIONS(Required & Preferred)
• At least 5-7 years of experience in product development
• Expert of design paradigms (haptic, tactile, responsive) for mobile, desktop and OTT platforms
• Deep understanding software development methodologies, including LEAN and Agile
• Ability and desire to work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class, market-leading products and services.
• Ability to work independently in a shifting environment.
• Ability to apply systems thinking and develop holistic solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent and highly versatile communication skills
• Leadership and Management skills
