Job Description:
Month-end closing of the income statement and balance sheet as described below:
Income statement – Journal entries for monthly accruals and reclasses of revenue. Work with the business and the Financial Planning and Analysis team to prepare monthly variances to budget, forecast, and prior year for the current period, quarter and year to date. Ad hoc analyses as needed. Participation in monthly closing meetings to discuss variances to ensure that the results are complete.
Balance Sheet – Complete monthly reconciliations for select balance sheet accounts including investigation of any differences. Liaise with other departments in order to provide insight into remaining balances. Participation in monthly balance sheet closing review to ensure that the reconciliations are complete and accurate.
Cash Flow – Provide cash flow support for various balance sheet accounts, as part of the monthly cash flow forecasting process.
Role also includes special projects to support management. Skills needed must include, attention to detail, analytical, communication, the ability to embrace change, and a strong desire to learn. Must be well organized and able to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Experience with a general ledger system required. PeopleSoft and nVision reporting (Preferred). Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 3 - 4 years of relevant experience required. Public Accounting/Audit background preferred. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
