Position Description
Reporting into the SVP Supply Chain, the Global Supply Chain Process/Design Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the end to end design for all processes within the global Supply Chain including; Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Control & Performance Management, Order to Cash aligned to the deployment of the Oracle eBusiness system as part of The Enabling Program (TEP).
Key Deliverables
• Accountable for ensuring the required SC functionality is embedded in the Order to Cash and Plan to Produce workflow design
• Working in unison with TEP to deliver globally consistent supply processes, reporting and ways of working
• Accountable for detailed mapping of processes as they relate to TEP
• Responsible for Supply Chain collection Global Design (in place to drive standard ways of working across the various global business units to drive efficiencies) defined as part of the Oracle system implementation.
• Engage key business stakeholders to drive identification and documentation of any requirements/enhancement requests and provision of subsequent technical support
• Support regional projects and process implementation working with the other four supply chain pillar leads
• Responsible for providing input and expertise in Supply Chain, to include Supply Chain forecasting models, operational forecasting and frequency of demand planning, supply response policy and collaboration processes for forecasting from a Pearson perspective
• Responsible for the assessment of proposed solution design options, highlighting risks and concerns and agreeing resolutions and escalating where necessary
Qualifications
Essential Skills/Experience
• Demonstrable experience of working on complex global programs and/or delivering new technology change
• Experience in supply chain process definition, management and enhancement at a global level
• Experience and understanding of Operations functions including having held operational roles at a global level
• Demonstrable experience in leading globally dispersed teams
• A track record of building, maintaining and managing strong relationships within an international business and across many different stakeholder groups
• Excellent communication skills and understanding of how information should be presented to get across important issues to different groups of stakeholders
• Excellent understanding of project management and planning
• Experience of design and implementation of target operating models that align to agreed supply chain processes
• Experience of master data management solutions
• Good understanding of continuous improvement methodologies within a supply chain environment e.g Six Sigma
• Effective negotiation skills and proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Experience of operationalising strategy within an organisation undergoing significant transformation
• Fluent English
Desirable Skills/Experience
• Familiarity with value drivers and customer requirements within a print/publishing environment
• Experience of end to end supply chain interactions and interdependencies
• Familiarity with demand planning platforms e.g. logility and their interfaces to ERP’s for example Oracle eBusiness
• Experience of supply chain process design in the context of a major ERP deployment
• Relevant postgraduate qualification and CI certification (e.g. MBA, Masters in Operations/Supply Chain, Six Sigma/Lean Six Sigma etc.)
• Fluent in one or more languages other than English
