Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Marketing will drive the brand strategy and creative marketing vision for the company. They will lead and manage key marketing initiatives to achieve revenue and customer growth with a heavy emphasis on brand development, social and content marketing and subscriber acquisition. This individual should have a passion for marketing to Millennials and Gen Z’s as well as the creative know-how to drive high impact campaigns and grassroots efforts while enjoying the challenges of a dynamic, rapidly changing industry.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
• Lead internal marketing team on strategies and processes that will drive the biggest results while maximizing resources
• Revamp Viki brand strategy and positioning to support strategic growth initiatives and recent acquisitions
• Develop and oversee execution of tactics to drive subscriber acquisition, engagement and retention
• Grow Viki’s brand awareness in the industry, with a particular focus on the advertising community
◦ Position Viki as a thought leader in the industry
◦ Ensure Viki is top of mind with brands advertisers
• As a key member of the executive team, bring experience and vision to bear on all key internal decisions
Qualifications
• 10+ years experience in marketing for media and/or internet companies
• Strong background in social media, brand building and PR
• Highly strategic and creative
• Solid understanding of relevant competitors and market landscape
• Strategic, analytical, and results driven with excellent project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and limited budgets
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Fluency in technical concepts that most impact marketing
• Executive team experience a plus
• Passion for or familiarity with K-drama and/or K-Pop a plus
