Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Campaign Development will work with marketing databases, designing and developing campaign data solutions, and automating direct marketing campaigns while managing a team of direct reports. Responsibilities include reviewing and implementing campaign data requirements developed by internal business partners, developing campaign data specifications, producing and quality-testing campaign data files, identifying and remediating issues along the campaign development lifecycle, and managing relationships with marketing stakeholders. This position will be responsible for work produced by direct reports.
This position will be tasked with working with senior level management to ensure that best in class practices are utilized in the marketing campaigns and those processes/queries are efficient, accurate, and error-free. This individual will also develop a deep understanding of the functionality of the CRM interface, the content and nuance of the data warehouse, and the structural complexities of direct marketing campaigns.
The right candidate must enjoy and excel at problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as marketing liaison with IT with solid expertise and a strong understand of CRM application functions and database objects.
• Responsible for the analysis of business problems and documentation and development of well-defined methods, suggested procedures, processes and programs in order to optimize the use of the functionality provided in the application.
• Responsible for architecture and design of marketing campaigns including email, direct mail, telemarketing, and IVR channels.
• Support and coordinate marketing campaign automation and associated tasks such as implementing, testing and executing marketing campaigns by the use of a Campaign Management platform and/or custom SQL.
• Support development of business requirements, functional specifications and design documents. Ensures design and functional specs meet business requirements.
• Support introduction of new programs and/or campaigns, working with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness.
• Implement and test marketing automation and integration with email systems, CRM system, web portals, data warehousing applications, data feeds and 3rd party software.
• Enhance current marketing programs and materials through automation and monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.
• Develop Campaign Development Documents and Data Field Documents and manages the execution of test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on these documents.
• Document software defects, using bug tracking systems, and report defects to software developers.
• Proactively identify new initiatives and/or improvements to current programs that gain operational efficiencies based on data analysis.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools is helpful but not required.
• All other projects and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This position will have direct reports as well as contractors reporting to it.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree (Marketing, Computer Information Systems, Business, or similar degree preferred) or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency.
• 8+ years of marketing experience in either Subscription, triggered or equivalent marketing industry.
• 8+ years of practical experience in coding, testing and implementing marketing business intelligence campaign initiatives.
• 4+ years of expert-level SQL coding experience.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences as well has the ability to understand issues from a Marketing and customer experience perspective.
• Strong process orientation and expertise in documentation and implementation of best in class practices for data management and campaign development/execution.
• Excellent technical analysis, planning and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of user acceptance testing.
• Ability to independently analyze data, identify discrepancies and inconsistencies and recommend a course of corrective action.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Expert SQL coding capabilities are a must.
• Candidates should have experience working with high-end CRM/Multi-Channel Campaign Management products; experience with Teradata marketing applications (CIM -- Customer Interaction Manager) is preferred.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• 50% technical 50% functional.
• Experience with Teradata marketing applications and Aprimo Campaign Development tools (CIM -- Customer Interaction Manager).
• Deep understanding and skills with Relational Databases; knowledge of BI tools.
• Expert SQL coding skills -- develop, modify and improve complex SQL-based Stored Procedures.
• 8+ years technical experience in a marketing operations role, preferably planning and executing marketing campaigns.
• 8+ years CRM system and data warehousing experience and with data mapping / interface development.
• Knowledge of marketing concepts, customer databases, and campaign management software.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
