Sr Marketing Analytics Manager
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Senior Marketing Analytics Manager is responsible for providing business based direction, recommendations, analysis and insights in support of Meredith’s consumer focused initiatives.
As part of a larger Consumer Marketing and Business Intelligence team, you will work closely with business stakeholders to translate consumer behavior/engagement, competitive and demographic data into analysis and actionable insights; and formulate recommendations that can be used to reach their business goals. You will also work with technical stakeholders to identify and develop automated reporting and monitoring solutions, ensure the accurate collection of data, and troubleshoot data anomalies all while having a keen sense of prioritization and business value around your work.
The position requires expert level experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics, and additional experience with data and analytics tools used in paid marketing, onsite and social testing & targeting methodologies, membership programs and cross-channel consumer marketing.
Must be adept at gathering data and information from these and other sources and distilling it down to identify the key insights needed by a business stakeholder. Must be able to effectively communicate with a non-technical audience, translating complex information into tangible business based recommendations.
The Senior Marketing Analytics Manager will provide leadership on effective digital marketing analytics methods and manage and develop less experienced digital marketing analysts on the team, providing guidance in digital marketing based data analysis.
The Marketing Analytics team will collaborate with business stakeholders on strategic initiatives including advice and recommendations related to data-based solutions.
II. Essential Job Functions

50% Partnerships:Establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders through regular communication. Participate in strategic discussions and goal setting. Present key findings on a consistent basis, helping stakeholders understand performance relative to goals. Collaborate with others on the Consumer Marketing, Digital, Database Research and Business Intelligence teams to manage projects and provide appropriate deliverables to meet the needs of the business stakeholders. Develop and guide less experienced analysts.
40% Analysis:Help business stakeholders structure marketing tests and provide subsequent analysis and recommendations. Define parameters to be tracked and analyzed. Investigate and analyze web usage data to identify trends in consumer behavior. Provide insights into data driven consumer behavior and formulate recommendations for optimization and improvement. Provide competitive research and analysis to track and trend Meredith’s competitive landscape and positioning in the marketplace. Effectively communicate these data findings to help in formulating strategic business decisions.
10% Reporting:Identify and help develop new metrics and report creation to provide new insights. Pursue enhanced data capture and seek new sources of data. Contribute to the accuracy/integrity of data through validation, testing, and documentation. Contribute to standardization and data governance efforts.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or other quantitative discipline/or equivalent training or experience.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience working specifically in digital marketing.
• Must be experienced in translating business needs into research strategies and translating research findings back into actionable recommendations.
• Must be experienced in managing personnel and projects and effectively communicate highly technical data findings and summaries to a less technical audience.
• Experience to include data analysis, interpretation, research design and implementation and report writing.
• Must be able to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
ESSENTIAL:
• Leadership and managerial skills.
• Advanced experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar web analytics tool and web metrics.
• Ability to integrate data from a wide variety of databases and platforms.
• Ability to express analytical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Advanced analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience with applying data analytics, statistics, and forecasting to business problems.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and as an individual contributor.
BONUS:
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
• Experience with data-focused languages such as Python and predictive modeling software such as R, SAS, or SPSS.
• Experience with HTML and JavaScript, especially experience troubleshooting web analytics code.
• Familiarity with paid marketing data and analytics like Kenshoo, Marin, Adwords, Facebook.
• Familiarity with website and email test and targeting data, analytics, and tools like Monetate and Maximizer.
• Experience working with email service providers such as Experian and Epsilon.
• Experience with ad-serving tools such as Google Adwords, DART, Atlas, or Real Media.
