The Fort Collins Coloradoan, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a sports journalist who wants to learn the new skills required for working with a progressive sports staff in one of the best small cities in the country.
The part-time, hourly reporter (15 hours per week) will be responsible for delivering engaging content for the Coloradoan’s website and social sites, and will have some reporting duties. The position includes shooting video of high school sporting events, posting to social media platforms, combing social media sites for viral moments and some writing duties.
The perfect candidate will possess a digital-first philosophy that allows them to deliver content to audiences across Coloradoan and social media platforms.
Your role:
• Produce compelling video highlights of high school sporting events
• Capture viral social moments to share with our audiences
• Write game recaps and compile prep scores for online
The hourly position will include night, weekend and possible holiday hours. Qualified candidates should have a degree in journalism or similar field, or be pursuing such a degree.
