Purpose:
The producer/director ensures the production of various programs, both live and edited, for which he or she is responsible that is aligned with the mission, values, objectives, strategies and action plan of Réseau des sports, RDS Info, RDS2 and RDS.ca. After consulting with the relevant parties, he or she is responsible for concept development, scriptwriting, direction, production, management and presentation to his or her immediate supervisor for final approval.
Nature and Scope:
Under the responsibility of the Line Producer, the producer/director must produce and direct programs for the Programming Department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan the development, production and editing of various programs
• Produce live programs/multi-camera broadcasts
• Remain at the cutting edge of technology
Required Knowledge:
• CEGEP or university degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of the television and video production industry
• In-depth knowledge of sports
• Experience in video production and scriptwriting
• Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to identify priorities; and pay attention to details in the performance of tasks
• Flexibility regarding work schedules
• Knowledge of broadcasting regulations (i.e. CRTC, advertising standards, etc.)
• Perfect fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Powerpoint and MS Excel and of different editing methods.
