The Enabling Programme (TEP) is a major transformation programme working to integrate finance, HR and supply chain data, processes, policy and systems to support the One Pearson vision built upon Oracle eBusiness and Fusion Cloud. Within the Enabling programme the TEP Solution Managers manage the end to end solution blueprint, meeting current and future business needs.
For the Solution Manager – Tax this includes:
• Accountable for creating and maintaining Tax systems documentation and standards
• Accountable to Work with Tax team to gather and document business requirements.
• Accountable for sign off on the Configuration documentation on Vertex and Ebiz tax.
• Accountable for signoff on any applicable Tax related technical specification documents
• Accountable for Developing acceptance test scenarios and participate in testing activities
• Responsible for escalating design issues if in-team resolution cannot be reached
• Responsible for driving adherence to project milestones, including implementing appropriate corrective actions when progress deviates from plan.
Qualifications
• Hands on experience of Vertex and integration with Oracle r12.
• Expert knowledge of sales & use tax, with international indirect tax knowledge as a bonus.
• Competent on direct tax requirements from a ERP transformation project.
• Demonstrable Exposure to reporting/returns and driving process change within a reporting environment.
• Working knowledge of E-Business tax, other tax engines i.e. building and maintaining tax rules
• Broad experience and understanding of finance and accounting functions
• Strong analytical skills and a committed triaging ability
• Proven global program experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to engage with different groups of stakeholders.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of status, actions, risks and issues
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Good organizational planning & time management skills.
