Administrative Assistant, Worldwide Distribution Analytics

General:
Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a bright and motivated individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant within Sony Pictures Releasing’s Worldwide Distribution Analytics department. This department is responsible for the providing business intelligence and analytic support to the global theatrical sales and distribution team.
The position is an excellent opportunity to learn the distribution business from the ground up and to contribute to the decision making process in the release of films by a major motion picture studio.
This individual will support two Senior Vice Presidents in an administrative capacity for 25% of the time. The remaining 75% will be spent in an analytical capacity as part of a worldwide team.
Analytical responsibilities for the position include maintaining data such as box office performance, release dates, and title metadata in Sony’s bespoke distribution planning system; supporting the team to report weekend box office performance; analyzing datasets from the division’s various database systems to develop market insights; preparing ad hoc analysis on theatrical trends; contributing to various research projects; and crafting presentations for management.
Qualifications and Skills:
• 0-2 years prior work experience.
• BA or BS required.
• Interest in and passion for movies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Creativity and open-mindedness.
• Strong computer skills. Prior experience with database systems a plus.
• Excellent quantitative skills, including proficiency with Excel.
• Facility with PowerPoint a plus.
• Exceptionally well-organized and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
• Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.
• International exposure and foreign language proficiency a plus.
