Assistant Video Editor, GoodHousekeeping.com
Reporting to and supporting the Video Producer, the Assistant Video Editor works closely with the entire social-video team and site editors to coordinate, produce, shoot and edit videos that appear daily on the sites and on key social channels for GoodHousekeeping.com and HouseBeautiful.com.
Key Responsibilities
• Spearheads the execution of 5-8 original videos per week made from sourced footage
• Contributes to the pre-production of 1-2 original VOD shoots per week by pitching ideas, following up with and organizing talent and equipment
• Manages talent, loads and sets up equipment, and shoots secondary camera footage on 1-2 VOD shoots per week
• Pitches, organizes and shoots at least 4 Facebook Lives per month
• Sources and edits 4 long-form videos per month
• Cuts initial selects and creates rough drafts for 4-5 original produced videos per week
• Works closely with social editors and graphic designer to pitch, create and schedule social-first content, such as meme videos, daily for Facebook and Instagram for both brands
• Handles the creation and export of additional versions for multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Gopher
• Organizes and uploads all finished footage to shared video servers
• Sources stock music options videos
Desired Skills and Experience
• Strong written communication and storytelling skills
• Close attention to detail
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder and exporting basics for web required
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects preferred
