The HR Project Manager is a delivery focused role that plans, organizes, secures, and manages resources and tasks to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. The individual in this role partners with project stakeholders, internal customers, external vendors, and cross-functional teams. The HR Project Manager facilitates a cross-functional team to execute on defined deliverables and drives key decisions. This is a fun role and we are looking for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast paced, demanding environment, who’s willing to dig deep into details as well as to be able to see the big picture and work through ambiguity to ensure decisions are made and the projects are delivered. The ideal candidate will have first-hand knowledge of HR operations and be an innovative change agent.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for developing and managing a collection of HR projects in varying size and scope.
• Develops an integrated plan that includes project deliverables, strategic alignment, total cost management, enterprise-wide impacts, milestones, risks, assumptions, constraints, change management and overall project investment. Updates project plans, priorities, and project sequencing as needed.
• Partners and collaborates cross-functionally with Centers of Excellence, HR business partners, Information Technology partners, suppliers, vendors and other cross functional teams throughout project to resolve issues, address prioritization, manage risks and ensure success.
• Anticipates and identifies tasks required to support change processing including performing change impact analysis, assigning tasks to project team members, verbally communicating complex issues, verifying that tasks are completed, and communicating implementation status.
• Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, key goals, milestones and financial parameters are met, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
• Managing Scope documentation - initial drafts, vetting, approvals and identifying scope risk (resources, clarity, capacity) and maintaining change logs.
• Managing Project Schedules including initial development, milestones, vetting, tracking, managing schedule risks and managing close out activities.
• Managing project Budgets including obtaining and vetting cost estimates, monitoring and tracking expenses throughout project, and managing budget risks.
• Maintaining all project artifacts throughout the development cycle, including schedules, budgets, variance reports, scope, change requests, archiving, etc.
• Managing day to day tasks and deliverables across project team.
• Managing all project status reporting - maintain project dashboard – proactively provide project updates to project team and project stakeholders.
• Elevating and managing project risks and issuesas appropriate, proactively work to resolution.
• Ensuring that quality steps and processes are in place and communicated to the team, and that quality issues are addressed.
• Orchestrating/facilitating prioritization and decision making for stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in related discipline.
• Lean, six sigma, Prince II knowledge and experience desired.
• Project Management Professional designation or Prince II designation preferred.
• Human Resources certification preferred.
• Human Resources experience preferred.
• Over 3 years of experience in related field (i.e. Change management, process improvement, project management roles).
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Application of industry-based project management methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of HR Operations and the employee life cycle.
• Experience with systems and process analysis, design and deployment.
• General business experience in global, large, matrixed organizations.
• Ability to lead, influence, and support teams to structure, manage and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, tracking progress and success against appropriate metrics.
• Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with partners at all levels.
• Works at a fast pace with a passion for continuous improvement.
