Position Summary:
This role is an integral member of the DNI Corporate Development & Digital Strategy team and supports the Senior Management Team in developing and articulating the development & digital strategy of the international business.
The team also works on specific projects supporting cross-functional initiatives and region or country specific projects supporting the Senior Management of DNI’s operating regions.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities
• Supporting on varied corporate development and digital strategic initiatives:
◦ Competitor and market reviews to support organic investment or M&A
◦ Business planning of key linear & digital development initiatives (investments, JVs, acquisitions)
◦ Strategic planning for Discovery’s international digital business
◦ Creative development of strategic pitches to external partners
◦ Channel, portfolio & digital product analysis
Specific responsibilities include:
• To contribute creative and strategic thinking on projects and to challenge existing perceptions
• To conduct research, gather input from all relevant teams and develop knowledge on relevant business areas
◦ Liaise with regional and/or central teams to collate and verify data
◦ Sourcing market data and conducting independent research
• To develop robust analyses to drive strategic insights
◦ Build scenario-driven models
◦ Support M&A transactions
◦ Use creativity to consider analytical problems from a range of angles
• To create presentations and/or memos that deliver strategic insights, analyses and recommendations
◦ Structure storyline flow
◦ Build slides quickly
◦ Present findings to the team and wider audiences
• Support ad-hoc requests from Senior Management on emerging issues
Requirements:
• Proven capability in sourcing data and conducting research
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong multi-tasking skills, with experience of working on a variety of projects and timelines simultaneously
• Strong inter-personal skills –must be a team player and confident to liaise with much more senior colleagues
• Ability to work in a diverse global matrix organization
• Ability to adapt to change
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Detail-oriented
• Passionate about working in the media industry
