Senior Manager, Golfweek

Golfweek part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, and the leader in delivering engaging news and information, has an immediate opening for Senior Manager to help support and grow our Golf vertical. The position reports to the VP Revenue, Golfweek/USA TODAY Golf and is located in our New York office. This role requires extensive travel and may involve odd hours, including nights and weekends.
In this role, you will:
• Manage the Golfweek and USA TODAY Golf vertical to maintain and expand upon Official PGA TOUR and LPGA relationships.
• Work closely with the VP, Revenue to grow non-endemic support and identify ways to strategically develop the category including; creating new partnerships, work with internal stakeholders to enhance content to drive traffic and build revenue.
• Collaborate and coordinate with existing Golfweek and USA TODAY National Sales Team to pursue new opportunities.
• Partner closely with the National Sales, Product and Editorial Teams to ensure the seamless executions and delivery of campaigns to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Effectively communicate and build Golfweek and USA TODAY Sports brand strength and credibility in the marketplace.
Here's what you need:
• 5+ years of experience working with sports-related sports marketing agencies, clients, leagues and/or integrated media sales.
• Strong relationships with golf's governing bodies (PGA TOUR, LPGA, PGA of America) as well as agencies and brands that spend in golf a plus.
• Strategic and creative thinker who can build and further develop opportunities that optimize Golfweek and USA TODAY Sports assets.
• Team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment where client satisfaction is critical.
• Strong presentation and communications skills.
• Solid business ethics and integrity a must.
• Advanced computer skills (Excel/Word/PPT), writing skills, email etiquette and telephone communication.
• Must have proven success for creating and successfully selling comprehensive programs from ideation to completion.
• College degree with a concentration in Sports Marketing (media background a plus).
