SoulPancake is the digital entertainment division of Participant Media. We are an award-winning provider of thought-provoking, joyful, and uplifting digital content including such widely popular series as Kid President and The Science of Happiness and reach an audience of nearly 9 million fans.
We like people who know how to hustle (and if you know how to do the hustle, that’s even better). We are looking for smart, friendly, hard working people to intern with us. Interns must be students, currently enrolled in a degree granting program at an accredited university.
Responsibilities:
◦ Continually find, group, sort, organize, and share the best and most relevant content across the internet that aligns with SoulPancake’s mission and aesthetic.
◦ Work with Social Media Manager to build database of influential blogs across various categories.
◦ Reach out to bloggers and websites to get SoulPancake videos featured.
◦ Track and document media coverage, website, and YouTube channel content and comments on a daily basis.
◦ Generate or find quick response videos/playlists for timely events and headlines.
◦ Create original content (i.e. commentary, opinions, headlines) to supplement curated material on social platforms.
◦ Maintain and grow SoulPancake’s presence on various social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, and YouTube.
◦ Support with some basic administrative duties, including mailing and errands.
Requirements:
◦ Currently enrolled college student.
◦ Marketing, Communications, Business majors preferred.
◦ Interest or background in marketing, social media.
◦ Experience or interest in journalism, researching and writing compelling stories about people and events.
◦ Ability to work quickly and on deadline.
◦ Ability to work a minimum 18 hours per week in the SoulPancake office.
◦ Understanding of grassroots/word-of-mouth marketing.
◦ Strong online search and research skills.
◦ Ability to find new sources of content across blogs, websites, and other curation sites.
◦ Ability to read and understand monthly website statistics, such as Google Analytics.
◦ Google Suite proficient - Gmail, Calendars, Drive.
◦ Well versed on current social media trends and online video scene.
◦ Must be a self-motivated team player with a strong work-ethic,eager to learn, excellent written and verbal communication skills, reliable transportation, a great attitude, and bonus points if you have a sense-of-humor. :)
