Required Skills:
The Digital Department Coordinator will provide a critical communication link between various studio partners, clients, vendors and internal departments ensuring IMAX product quality and timely delivery to the global network.
What you’ll be doing:
• Schedules and coordinates flow of work within or between departments and/or external suppliers to expedite production by performing the following duties
• Reviews customer purchase orders, master production schedules and work orders
• Establishes priorities for specific customer orders and shares information with team members and management
• Reschedules processes as required when deadlines or work details are updated by clients
• Distributes work orders to individuals, departments or external suppliers, denoting number, type, specific order details, and proposed completion date of units to be produced
• Monitors progress of work to provide status updates to management, multiple times per day, and maintains various spreadsheets and databases
• Keeps clients apprised of work progress using excellent customer service skills
• Compiles short and long-term reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of equipment or human error to apprise management of production delays and proposed remedies
• Maintains inventory of elements delivered and materials needed to complete production and in house versioning
• Confers with team members to develop new methods to expedite production and maintain quality control
What we’re looking for:
• Detail oriented, excellent record-keeping and database management skills required
• Working understanding of current digital cinema production workflow and terminology
• Demonstrated ability to double-check own work and use good judgment
• Great team player with the ability to involve others in making critical decisions
• Proactive thinker – what will be required to complete this job and deliver to the client in a timely manner? Be prepared to answer those questions – before they are asked of you
• Manage disparate information from a variety of sources and consolidate/conform/prioritize before forwarding
• The ability to grasp the big picture of what is required as well as the very fine details of what is needed to get there and how
• Excellent communicator with advanced level Excel skills and a minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience
• Any additional language familiarity is beneficial to interact with clients globally
• Evening, weekend and extended hours are a regular part of this position in a client deadline-driven post production environment
