Job Title: Manager, Marketing Analysis
Department: Direct to Consumer
Reports to: Sr. Manager, Business Analysis
Job Summary:
You are responsible for budgeting and analysis of all direct marketing activities to support the Direct-to-Consumer Division in making the best business decisions. In this roll you will work closely with your Manager and all Marketing Departments (List, Acquisition, Retention, Customer Development) to ensure accurate interpretation and analysis of marketing results.
Responsibilities:
Major Accountabilities:
◦ Prepare profit and loss analysis to assist the Direct Marketing department in making list, package, product, customer retention, and test recommendations and strategic decisions for direct mail, internet and alternate media campaigns. Review campaign performance and identify significant trends; identify and investigate any issues with performance. Present results to internal teams, senior management, and to the whole department.
◦ Prepare rollout recommendations based on test results, outlining risks and potential gains. Must be comfortable working with incomplete information, or making recommendations where the conclusion is not always straightforward.
◦ Prepare for investment decisions by drawing on underlying trends, exceptions, variances and appropriate benchmarks (e.g. budget, forecasts and historical information) to determine which lists will be profitable to mail in upcoming campaigns. Work with customer segmentation data to identify which sub-segments would be the most profitable to mail, and what would be the best contact strategy.
◦ Create budget and forecast information for direct mail, internet and alternate media campaigns for submission to Direct Marketing Finance by pre-established deadlines. Forecast mail volumes, intake, retention, and payment metrics for each channel, by offer, by product.
◦ Revise forecast, as new information becomes available, and prepare various forecasts and analysis as required, as input to inventory planning for books, premiums and marketing materials.
◦ Working with List Department, determine the expected mail quantities and intake for various direct marketing channels including the number of tests and quantities required.
Qualifications Include:
◦ Business/Commerce Degree
◦ 5+ years of related experience
◦ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
◦ Understanding of basic statistics, testing methodology, customer segmentation
◦ Strong commitment to teamwork and excellent communication skills
◦ Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
◦ Proven computer skills: MS Excel/Visual Basics, BusinessObjects
◦ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
◦ Knowledge of direct marketing practices is an asset
