Associate Director, Measurement Strategy and Data Architecture
Analytics and insight into our products, users and external experiences is a key part of our business. The Associate Director of Measurement Strategy and Data Architecture, in partnership with our Analytics and Data Engineering teams, will be responsible for ensuring that we are tracking what we should be, utilizing internal as well as external capabilities, and standardizing approaches across all of Condé Nast’s brands. The Associate Director will also be participating in and providing input into overall digital strategy and analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with rest of analytics organization to identify best in class measurement solutions
• Partner with analytics, technology, editorial and sales teams to identify business needs and translate them into product specifications and optimized tracking solutions
• Author implementation documentation and standards and update based on changing business needs
• Lead data governance across our analytics stack (including third party analytics such as comScore) and ensure the integrity and cleanliness of the data
• Develop strategy for how we appropriately and most efficiently ensure data accuracy
• Develop alert systems that flag issues proactively
• Determine how to test and validate tracking requirements
• Ensure alignment between first and third party measurement tools
• Collaborate with engineering team to identify root causes of analytics issues
• Evangelize the value of analytics among the engineering organization to instill ownership and accountability
• Collaborate with the business operations team to create tools that extract advertiser data along with traffic data from our systems
• Provide support and guidance to our analytics power users on the best ways to extract data from the various analytics tools at their disposal
Required skills:
• Expert level fluency in at least 1 programing language, preferably JavaScript (Our tech stack is primarily Node.js on the server with React views)
• Experience with reporting and tag implementation for analytics tools such as Omniture and Google Analytics
• Experience with A/B testing tools such as Optimizely and Adobe Test and Target
• Experience with comScore and/or other third party analytics tools
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Eager to learn about new technologies and implementing these ideas in a production environment
• The desire to make analytics and data a core part of our culture and the ability to make that happen
• The ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-sensitive environment and become a thought-leader who can make strategic recommendations
