Associate Editor, Nature Reviews Endocrinology

Nature Reviews Endocrinology has a vacancy for a full-time Associate Editor.
Main duties of role: editing, commissioning, peer-review, writing.
The Associate Editor’s role is busy and varied. This exciting position will work closely with the small, in-house journal team, and liaise directly with the internationally renowned Advisory Board and contributors. Key tasks include commissioning and editing for all editorial sections, organizing peer-review and writing Research Highlights. The job is based in our modern London offices but some travel to conferences will be required.
To meet these challenging tasks, the ideal candidate will have a broad scientific or medical knowledge and training. Preference will be given to candidates with the following key attributes: a relevant biological science or biomedical degree to PhD level; a demonstrable ability to edit text for sense, clarity, factual correctness and language; experience that indicates a proactive approach and excellent organizational skills. Training will be provided, but prior editorial experience will be advantageous.
Nature Reviews Endocrinology covers a wide range of topics relating to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system, including diabetes mellitus; obesity; the metabolic syndrome; thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary and adrenal disease; neuroendocrinology; bone and mineral metabolism; endocrine-related cancer; nutrition; endocrine autoimmune disease; and reproductive endocrinology. Basic, translational and clinical aspects of the endocrine system are covered.
