Digital Publicity Assistant - Penguin Young Readers
Are you creatively-minded and passionate about children’s and young adult literature? Do you enjoy following and chatting with bloggers who share your passions? Penguin Young Reader is looking for a Digital Publicity Assistant to lead the evolving conversation with online book reviewers, book bloggers, subscription box services, and other emerging channels. The Digital Publicity Assistant will work on growing Penguin Young Readers media coverage in the blogosphere by fostering relationships with bloggers who cover key genres (YA, mystery, romance, sci-fi, parenting, education etc.) and supporting campaigns for titles spanning picture book to YA, and everything in between.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent time management and prioritization skills, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with distinguished authors and brands.

Specifically, the Digital Publicity Assistant:
1. Fosters relationships with bloggers who cover key genres (Young Adult, mystery, romance, sci-fi, parenting, education etc.).
2. Pitches Penguin's entire Young Adult and Middle Grade lists, as well as select picture books to key bloggers seasonally.
3. Secures blog reviews and author interviews for Penguin's Young Adult and Middle Grade titles.
4. Organizes extensive blog tours for select authors.
5. Works closely with select authors to develop unique and compelling content for blog tours.
6. Works closely with publishers/editor, fellow publicists and social media marketing team.
7. Cultivates and maintains author relationships.
Please apply if you meet the following qualifications:
• 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
• Strong interest in publicity and publishing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent organizational skills and superb attention to detail
• Strong follow-up skills
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Google docs; Photoshop or Adobe Suite a plus, but not required
