BC Production and Payroll Accountant

We are seeking a Production and Payroll Accountantfor our Vancouver location. This position will report directly to the Controller in Los Angeles and will supervise the Payroll and Accounting Clerk in BC.
Duties & Oversight:
• Process/oversee bi-weekly payroll (salaried & hourly), issue ROEs, T4s, T4As, T4A-NR
• Make payroll JEs, prepare payroll reports on a bi-weekly basis
• Oversee/review A/P, including vendor bills, credit cards and expense reimbursements for BC location
• Handle statutory remittances for BC (WorkSafe BC, GST/HST, Non-Resident Tax, bi-weekly payroll tax remittances) on a timely basis; ensure all regulatory compliance in the BC office
• Serve as a liaison between Zoic and CRA as well as Zoic BC and the bank
• Assist the team in LA with cash flow management, A/R & collections
• Monitor credit cards and petty cash funds in BC and make timely payments
• Prepare and/or review month end schedules for BC, LA, NY locations
• Work closely with the Sr. Accountant (and the rest of the team) in LA on ad-hoc reporting, analysis, schedules, inquiries, etc.
• Oversee the work of an accounting/payroll clerk and provide guidance
• Handle Statistics Canada requests and submit reports, as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 1-2 years of payroll experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills a must
• Organized with excellent attention to detail
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
• QuickBooks and ADP experience preferred
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player
