Responsibilities:
• To represent Springer Nature at conferences and exhibitions in the region.
• To maintain Springer Nature’s good relations with University Librarians and Senior Management at major consortia and the leading research universities in the region.
• To visit libraries, ministries, consortia bodies and intermediaries and support the local Sales Directors in their activities.
• To set sales policies for the region in consultation with the VP Institutional sales and other managers of Springer Nature, particularly for the implementation of global business models in a local setting. Assist with setting global sales and marketing policy in consultation with the VP Institutional sales and other managers of Springer Nature.
• To set annual sales goals and targets for the team of Sales Directors and Licensing Managers. Motivate and monitor the team to ensure sales maximum performance in the region.
• To work with the Regional marketing teams, plan sales and marketing operations including market research, advertising, promotion, distribution, pricing and selling
• Responsible for ensuring that the team of Sales Directors and Licensing Managers are performing their duties in respect of their market sectors to the required standard
• To have responsibility for the team to send out licenses and invoices, arrange online access with the global Licensing Control, Legal, Helpdesk and Customer Service departments, and follow-up on customer and intermediaries’ payments.
• In consultation with the VP Institutional sales, control sales methods and arrangements by setting prices and credit arrangements.
• To work closely with the Regional sales support team to ensure a top quality service for customers and smooth and efficient internal processes.
• To undertake research and monitor sales and marketing activity to produce reports, give recommendations and formulate changes to enhance business.
• To keep abreast of industry developments in academic publishing, as well as monitor our competitors´ developments.
• To prepare and submit Weekly and Monthly Reports detailing sales projections, pipeline and activity levels, and other reports as required.
• Have responsibility for the team to maintain and update account information in appropriate systems.
• To monitor customer service, invoicing and payments for business generated in the region.
• Extensive travel in region of responsibility and the APAC region of the VP Institutional Sales, in addition, make trips to company locations in Europe, Asia and the US, internal sales conferences and meetings and other possible events as required. It is expected that extensive travel will be required with the Southeast Asia regio
Requirements:
• At least 5+ years industry experience at a Country Manager or Regional Manager level
• At least one local language in the region.
• Fluent English
