The Head of Progression and Recognition will have strategic and operational responsibility for managing the effective delivery and implementation of a global progression and recognition strategy for vocational and academic qualifications and services.
Key Areas of Responsibility;
• Gain recognition of Pearson qualifications with Higher Education Institutions and Ministries around the world, focusing on our key markets North America, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom;
• Build advocacy amongst stakeholder groups for Pearson qualifications as a progression route into Higher Education;
• Develop stakeholder relationships enabling learners internationally to achieve their ambitions through progression opportunities and recognition of our qualifications.
• Lead on employer and professional body recognition of Pearson qualifications
• Lead in terms of liaising with regional colleagues with regards to local government and regulatory recognition and securing local equivalency approaches
• Manage the global agreement with the British Council and support development of the strategic relationship with the British Council in order to maximise commercial opportunities and support the ongoing development of our portfolio.

Qualifications
Experience
Essential:
• High level confident communicator, with excellent written and oral presentation skills and an ability to work with people at all levels both internally and externally.
• An ability to think laterally in solving problems, to challenge entrenched thinking and to make judgements on significant new problems where precedent may not apply.
• An ability to research, formulate and lead compelling strategies in alignment with business goals in each sector (academic, Vocational, WBL and Higher Education).
• An ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• An ability to work within a rapidly changing environment.
• Outstanding standards of professionalism, customer focus and creativity, combined with ability to contribute to development of strategy.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the landscape of global Higher Education.
• Experience of working with qualifications
• Proven success of Business Development
• Experience working with senior decision makers within different stakeholder groups.
• Managing Budgets.
• People management.
Desirable:
• Experience of developing / supporting educational services
• A proven track record of leading projects and influencing within teams, as well as working in a matrix structure
• Knowledge/experience of implementing efficacy
• Previous experience working internationally
