Senior Director, Social Content & Engagement Strategy
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Director, Social Content & Engagement Strategy to join our rapidly growing Social Media team. The Senior Director, Social Media acts as the lead resource to develop and execute innovative social media marketing strategies and programs on behalf of his or her assigned clients. The Senior Director works directly with the client and SapientRazorfish teams to plan, execute and measure all aspects of social media programs. In addition, this role provides thought leadership to the entire agency and its clients, serving as a subject matter expert on all social platforms and their related ad products, as well as the constant stream of broader technological innovations and resulting consumer behavior shifts that continually impact digital marketing. The Senior Director oversees social media strategists and coordinators who are responsible for program execution.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the creation, development and execution of social media content marketing strategies including conducting social media competitive and social listening audits and, with the support of junior team members, creating social content, channel, operational and measurement strategies.
• Oversee and manage complex social media/digital projects from developing and pitching concepts to clients to implementing, executing and reporting on their successes and/or optimizations.
• Work with creative, UX, and technology teams to create innovative social content and campaigns that are rooted in audience insights and platform capabilities across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.
• Serve as a thought-leader and subject matter expert on social media platform innovations, content best practices, and updates to ad products, APIs and policies.
• Managing and executing paid social media campaigns including determining targeting and optimization strategies and managing ad campaign budgets.
• Support delivery management and client engagement in drafting proposals, budgets and timelines for client projects.
• Provide regular and consistent engagement with clients around all aspects of social programming including (and not limited to) social media channel management, content creation, partnerships, promotions, influencer outreach initiatives, events, etc.
• Serve as key day-to-day client counselor on social media strategy with the client and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Supervise and train junior level resources including social media strategists and coordinators. Work with junior staff to ensure daily, weekly and monthly goals are being met and exceeded.
• Collaborate closely with other agencies and internal teams where appropriate.
• Understand basic research techniques and methodologies and use them to support development/execution of client campaigns
• Assist in business development activities such as contributing to RFP responses and proposals.
• Exhibit strong understanding of market and digital capabilities.
Experience Guidelines:
• 7+ years of social media and digital experience at a public relations/communications, interactive, advertising, or marketing agency.
• Experience developing, pitching and executing social media campaigns or content series on behalf of a sizeable piece of business.
• Experience integrating social media programming and communications across multiple platforms and channels.
• Strong knowledge of social media vendors ranging from listening and audience research tools to social media CRM platforms, and promotional tools.
• Curiosity for uncovering emerging social media platforms and/or first-mover opportunities on existing platforms.
• Strong digital communications and content development background.
• Strong expertise with social media measurement tools and platforms; timely knowledge of trends and hot topics.
• Previous experience developing, managing and implementing influencer programs; experience with promotions, sweepstakes/contests and partnerships a plus.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to counsel clients' on online marketing issues and content strategies.
• Knowledge and experience with online issues/reputation management programming a plus.
• Knowledge basic programming skills such as HTML, CSS, etc. are a plus.
• Ability to manage budgets and calculate program ROI.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to think, plan and execute resourcefully, across multiple tasks, with minimal supervision.
Education:
• A bachelor`s degree in English, journalism, marketing or a related field is preferred or equivalent military experience
