.
We’re looking for a user experience designer to join our growing global UXD practice at Springer Nature and work on two of our flagship brands: BMC and Springer Open.
The job is based in Kings Cross, London and you’ll work closely with a colleague in Spain.
Overview
You’ll be working on two websites that share a technology platform: BMC and Springer Open.
BMC publishes some 300 peer-reviewed journals online at https://biomedcentral.com, and was the first academic publisher to make high quality research open to everyone. It remains the largest, carrying two flagship journals Genome Biology and Genome Medicine , and many other industry-leading titles from research communities around the world.
The team you’ll join built the content platform for the BMC and Springer Open websites and continues to drive its evolution. They support our organisation’s growth targets, but also explore interesting ways to meet the challenges and opportunities in a lively market.
You will need to develop a deep understanding of the products and the open access publishing market they serve, and advocate for our users and their needs. BMC is currently undergoing a brand refresh, so you’ll take a key role in influencing and delivering this ambitious piece of work.
