POSITION SUMMARY:
• Manage the delivery of the scientific content of medical communications in close coordination with medical writers and operations/sales team members.
• Supports account managers in their commercial relationships with clients.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project work
To manage development and delivery of scientific content for a range of medical communications that meet client needs, internal quality standards, related regulations and timelines:
• Monitor quality, style and accuracy and provide timely, consistent and constructive feedback.
• Ensure that projects reflect a thorough understanding of clients’ objectives and that key messages are supported appropriately.
• Liaise with clients to agree specifications and check that client expectations are being met.
Business Planning/commercial
• Provide editorial expertise in the development of new business pitches and proposals.
• Maintain broad awareness of developments in editorial issues within the Springer Healthcare product portfolio.
Financial/Organizational
• To contribute to revenue targets by ensuring that projects are progressed as per schedule.
• To monitor own adherence to budget and utilization rate.
• To record and monitor actual time spent on a project against budgeted time.
MANAGERIAL OR SUPERVISORY:
• N/A
CONTACTS:
• Editorial manager and editorial team members on daily basis
• Operations team members (project managers, designers) and account managers related to ongoing projects and/or potential new projects, on a daily basis
• Clients, as required
• External collaborators and providers (medical specialists, freelancers, translation agencies, etc.), as required
ACCESS TO AND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR INFORMATION/MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT:
• Access to confidential information from clients
• Equipment use (computer)
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
• Editorial management
• Experience working with pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, STM publisher or academic institution
• Scientific/Medical background (preferable)
• Experience in medical translations (preferable)
