RHCB - Assistant Managing Editor
We are looking for an Assistant Managing Editor to join the Random House Children's Books Managing Editorial team. The Assistant Managing Editor supports the Managing Editors with all aspects of managing editorial responsibilities for titles across the Division.
The Assistant Managing Editor:
1. Performs administrative duties such as answering telephones, opening and sorting mail, faxing, xeroxing, maintaining files, ordering supplies, scheduling appointments, and setting up meetings.
2. Tracks invoices and payments
3. Prepares reports and presentations using appropriate software, including gathering relevant data and statistical information
4. Responds to routine requests for informaiton, and refers more complex requests to the appropriate staff member
5. Runs reports from SAP, FMP and myhouse
6. Tracks status of sales materials each publishing span
7. General troubleshooting
8. Special projects as assigned
9. Liaison with outside text-leveling services (Lexile and Fountas &Pinnell)
10. Responds to routine requests for informaiton, and refers more complex requests to the appropriate staff member
11. Maintain reprint library
12. Performs other related projects or duties as assigned or required by division
Requirements:
• Superb attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Ability to successfully prioritize multiple projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
