SoulPancake is looking for a creative, experienced, hands-on Director, Advertising & Brand Solutions to help expand SoulPancake’s branded content division. The Director, Advertising & Brand Solutions will work directly under the company’s Head of Sales & Business Development and will be responsible for generating a target amount of advertising and sponsorship revenue. The ideal candidate will consider him/herself a creative, passionate seller who does best when representing a brand they really believe in. The Director, Advertising & Brand Solutions will work closely with the SoulPancake Creative, Marketing, and Sales teams to maximize brand revenue potential and opportunities for the company and come up with creative solutions for our brand and agency partners. We are looking for a self-starter, charismatic seller who is passionate about SoulPancake’s overall mission and will be able to roll up their sleeves to close real revenue and branded content opportunities and help bring them to life.
Responsibilities
◦ Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals through customized advertising programs and branded content materials.
◦ Work with Creative and Marketing teams to develop strategic sponsorship opportunities.
◦ Attend weekly sales meetings to discuss/present proposals from agencies and clients.
◦ Identify and qualify potential new prospects (inbound and outbound).
◦ Organize and lead internal brainstorm sessions to develop branded content concepts in response to briefs.
◦ Understand the demographics and psychographics of our audience and articulate its value to advertisers.
◦ Attend conferences and events, as needed.
◦ Manage a sales funnel and report progress, efforts, and developments.
◦ Prepare and deliver research-based presentations to prospects and partners.
◦ Quarterback the creation of the best possible proposals for brand partners along with internal SoulPancake teams.
Requirements
◦ 5-7 years experience in Sales or Business Development or 7-10 years experience in the ad agency world managing client relationships, with a desire to move into publisher sales.
◦ 2-3 years experience selling or developing branded content / branded entertainment.
◦ Experience in corporate social responsibility initiatives and social impact marketing programs a plus.
◦ In-depth knowledge of the latest trends in digital content, distribution, programming, and media buys.
◦ Strong relationships with marketers and ad agency personnel – priority will be given to candidates with a rolodex and comfort with close communication across a variety of channels (brand-direct, media agencies, content agencies, social agencies, creative agencies, PR firms, etc).
◦ Proven ability to analyze campaign success and build compelling case studies.
◦ Proficiency with Keynote and sales management tools such as Salesforce, Sellercrowd, Brandtale, etc.
Skills
◦ Strong communications skills, especially in writing and pitching/presenting.
◦ Deep rolodex of contacts at key agencies, brands, PR firms, and creative shops.
◦ Ability to collect data, generate strategic insights, and formulate a compelling sales story and case studies.
◦ Ability to effectively manage a large prospect list.
◦ Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, can develop new and customized solutions in an ever-changing media landscape.
◦ Advanced negotiation and closing skills.
◦ Ability to work independently and be productive in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
