Random House Children’s Sales is looking for a Brand Manager who will act as the key relationship manager between licensors and Random House publishing and sales groups for the internal and external brands. The Manager will identify growth opportunities based on sales reporting and make recommendations on positioning, pricing, and strategy to publishing, sales, & licensors. The goal of the Manager will be to maximize exposure opportunities for titles and licenses while generating profitability for the division.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Helping the publishing group establish aggressive, realistic sales goals for individual titles and working with sales and marketing groups to ensure that appropriate marketing support is available for achieving these goals.
2. Reviewing individual publisher’s publishing plans as they are formed and making recommendations based on review of account/channel trends, prior title’s performance, etc.
3. Working with sales and marketing teams to develop retailer-specific programs and promotions.
4. Reviewing marketing and publicity plans and analyzing and presenting results of all licensed promotions to publishing and sales groups.
5. Preparing sales analysis and providing business reviews.
6. Providing monthly feedback to licensors and publishing group on key customer groups, including sales trends, promotion opportunities and individual title/format performance.
Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of sales and/or analytical experience, preferably within publishing
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and is exceptionally consumer-focused
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
• Genuine interest in children’s book publishing
