Pearson College London is a core part of Pearson, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as short courses through two academic Schools: Pearson Business School and Escape Studios.
Purpose:
We are seeking to appoint a Student Recruitment Graduate Coordinator to provide effective support and contribution to the Pearson College London student recruitment strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
The post holder will be required to fully participate in a range of operational and recruitment activities for Pearson Business School and Escape Studios. Activity will include the following:
• Represent Pearson College London at UCAS fairs, HE fairs, and skills summits, effectively promoting our brand and product set (degree and apprenticeships) to the market. Approximately 75% of the role will be spent representing Pearson College London at external events.
• Deliver presentations at in-house events, such as open days and taster days. Often seeing students who first interacted with Pearson College London at UCAS events.
• Initiate contact with new schools and colleges to raise brand awareness and generate leads through arranging visits, delivering presentations and workshops in key schools and colleges.
• Maintain and help grow the student recruitment schools and colleges database; ensuring all visits are correctly recorded. .
• Opportunity to input into national school and college marketing and student recruitment campaigns, and to make recommendations on improvements to student recruitment activities.
• Liaise with schools and colleges across the UK in order to maintain existing relationships and expand the network of schools.
• Provide operational and administrative support to aid the student recruitment team in recruitment and outreach activities.
• Give support to the Events Coordinators during peak periods
• Work with the Admissions team during peak periods such as confirmation and clearing to ensure the process works effectively.
• Undertake other responsibilities and duties consistent with the role of Student Recruitment Coordinator as may be requested by the Student Recruitment Manager.
Key Challenges:
Pearson College London is a recent entrant to a competitive and established market. As such the key challenges in this role are:
• To expertly represent our brand to the market
• To assist in the achievement of challenging student recruitment targets in line with growth objectives.
• To generate target number of leads for degrees and apprenticeships via recruitment events and schools and college activity.
• To assist in conversion of leads to applications through professional and well executed customer relationship management and event support.

Competencies
Essential:
• You will be a self starter, expected to anticipate problems that may arise and use your initiative to deal with issues. You will recognise when it is appropriate and necessary to escalate certain issues.
• You will have excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to formulate and clearly articulate a plan of action. In addition, to provide updates on progress and build in contingencies.
• You will be able to make decisions independently based on your knowledge of schools, colleges and the education sector. You will use your judgement to effectively manage your own workload, understanding the need to be flexible in your approach.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and an ability to work with tact and diplomacy in dealing with a range of people.
• Ability to be flexible in your approach.
• Ability to undertake significant amounts of travel at certain key points in the year and some weekends and evenings.
• You will have personal gravitas to inspire confidence in others.
• You will be methodical with good attention to detail and experienced in meeting deadlines and delivering high quality work.

Desirable:
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the HE recruitment cycle.
Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential:
• Degree or equivalent experience
Previous Experience
Essential:
• Recent experience of working within a busy, customer-focused environment.
• Proven track record in successfully achieving objectives and targets.
• Experience of presenting to a variety of audiences.
Desirable:
• Experience of working within a student recruitment office.
• Ideal for candidates who have been student ambassadors or brand ambassadors.
IT Literacy
Essential:
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
