The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing relevant, accurate and timely financial analysis in support of our business units. The Financial Analyst services the Regional Finance Directors, Hub employees and business units as needed. In all phases of the hub’s evolution, the Financial Analyst provides direct support to the hub and business units that includes, but is not limited to, weekly, quarterly and annual forecasting, annual budgeting, capital planning, ad hoc analysis, revenue trending. The Financial Analyst is proficient in either advertising/circulation revenue analysis or financial performance analysis. The Financial Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely analytical reports and strong customer service both for the hub and the business unit.
Primary Responsibilities/Tasks
· Develops relationships and provides support to the Regional Financial Analysis Manager, Regional Finance Directors, Finance Hub Vice President and staff at business units.
· Assists with the development and implementation of standardized analytical tools and reporting as well as ad hoc reporting when needed.
· Performs financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, annual budgeting, capital planning and ad hoc P&Ls.
· Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan.
· Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.
· Investigates variances to expected results and provides explanations.
· Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
· Increases productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; coordinating information requirements.
· Continue to perform previously assigned duties during transition to Hub, including but not limited to:
· Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Business degree (BS or MBA) with 2+ years of financial analysis experience or comparable work experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
· Experience in a consolidated financial environment
· Knowledge of BPC, EDMS (Publishing), Wide Orbit (Wide Orbit)
