Application Architect
We are looking for creative and passionate Application Architect who want to be part of a Professional Information Business’ technology team where everyone has the opportunity to come up with new ideas and to shape the future of our company in building game-changing software.
Our engineers play a critical role in all stages of the product lifecycle, so we look for people who crave ownership, have the initiative for building new software and ensure existing is functioning. Working in a matrix reporting environment, the candidate should be able to work on more than one work streams at any point of time.
Responsibilities:
As part of a cross-functional agile software team, building Test Frameworks to test new libraries and apps for functional, cross-browser, performance and usability defects
• As part of a cross-functional agile software team, you will design, implement, and maintain ReST API applications in a highly collaborative environment
• Lead teams technically in delivering web applications using Platform ReST APIs
• Participate and lead technical discussions about technology, infrastructure and consider the pros/cons of a technology choice based on business value, scalability, maintainability and project delivery performance.
• Support Dow Jones technical cultural values and are capable of driving toward solutions independently, seeking feedback when appropriate.
• Maintain and share knowledge in emerging technologies and tools in the industry
• Being able to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment..
Skills & Experience:
• Over 5+ years of experience in building both the client- and server-side of consumer-facing web applications and developing single page applications using modern JavaScript technologies
• 3+ experience in Node.js
• 2+ years Experience in Angular, Backbone.js
• Hands on experience and very good understanding of unidirectional data flow, React.JS using Flux implementations like Alt, Redux, understanding on universal/isomorphic concepts.
• Understanding of serverless applications, experience using KOA, Babel.
• Familiarity with browser and mobile app testing and debugging, building responsive front end applications.
• Must have experience in CSS technologies like CSSNext, LESS, Sass, CSS Modules.
• Good troubleshooting skills especially with Single page application development.
• Experience in implementing ReSTful APIs following JSON API standards
• Experience writing unit tests using Mocha, Karma.JS, testing with Phantom browser or other such tools.
• Experience in Linux and Windows environment
• Experience in Microsoft.net application development a plus.
Preferred Qualifications of the Sr. SET:
• Understanding of OAuth integration, ReST API integration with the front end application.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Dev. Ops practices.
• Experience with automated testing tools and techniques.
• Experience in AWS Cloud deployment.
• Experience working with Docker or other container technologies.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and programming skills. Ability to identify and isolate problem areas in the end-to-end flow of web application and investigate cause and solution.
