We are looking for a Group Strategy Director, Social to join our Boston Strategic Planning team.
Most brands in most categories follow conventions - usually as a result of research and experience. The problem is competitors follow the same logic and soon, everyone’s ads look alike.
The biggest problem with brands today isn’t rejection. It’s indifference, boredom, and lack of compelling reasons to talk about the brand. Studies have revealed that the most talked about brands grow faster than the rest of their categories. And that “fame” is the best predictor of sales success. Buzz isn’t just a nicety. It’s a business necessity.
We are looking for a rockstar Group Strategy Director with strong experience in the social / digital realm. Our ideal candidate would have experience in BOTH creative development AND social / digital strategy. Someone who can sit across from creatives developing integrated, buzzworthy campaigns (off of an inspiring brief s/he has written), but also get a little wonky on social / digital with clients and in new business. Preferably enough experience with community management to be dangerous. The candidate will help manage senior clients, build partner agency integration, and develop social strategy alongside brand planning and digital teams. Candidate should have experience in new business, and love winning.
This person will:
• Lead the strategic process, provide the insights and tactical direction needed to create quality social content, build audiences and amplify a brand’s reach.
• Provide insightful perspective on the role of social media within a brand’s marketing strategy.
• Driving thought leadership around content development, engagement tactics, and measurement.
• Work closely with creative teams to integrate social into large scale campaigns, and collaborate with them to develop creative tactics that are optimal for social platforms.
• Work directly with clients and serve as the strategic counterpart and guide to client’s digital and social media leads.
The Ideal Candidate
• Leader: You have experience managing cross-functional teams
• Versatile Strategist: You understand the fundamentals of brand strategy, and you have passion and expertise in digital, social media, and content strategy. You can back up great ideas with sound reasoning.
• Digital & Social Advocate: You always know what is trending and with which audiences. You know how to bring these to the table and connect them with creative ideas.
• Creative Partner: You love working with creative teams and have experience collaborating with them to develop ideas.
• Eloquent and Vocal: You know how to tell a story and sell an idea in written and spoken form. You speak up often, and when you do, clients and the team listen because it is insightful, articulate, and adds value.
Requirements
• Ten plus years experience.
• Be prepared to show examples of your best strategic and creative work and presentation skills.
You must be eligible to work in the United States to be considered for this role.
