VP, North America Licensing (CPG)
Responsible for effective management and growth of WWE’s North America CPG Licensing group, including overseeing short and long-term strategy, day-to-day business, marketing, product development, P&L, identifying new licensing opportunities, managing negotiations, as well as business, forecast, and budget reviews and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact and strategic manager for WWE’s North America Licensing group
• Oversee day-to-day communication with key licensees to stay current on the business, as well as to challenge and build relationships as necessary to ensure the business is properly maximized
• Guide strategic, analytical, and financial planning to help build consensus around decisions or effectively lead discussions within the CPG team
• Lead business development initiatives to identify new licensing partners and product categories, including researching, pitching, and executing contracts
• Develop strategic opportunities that enhance WWE’s portfolio
• Ensure contractual compliance, reviewing forecasts, budgets, etc.
• Oversee the complete North America Licensing process
• Bring to conclusion profitable and strategic licenses that fit our brand
• Establishes and manages marketing programs designed to increase the sell-in and sell-thru of WWE Consumer Products in all distribution channels
• Oversees multi-faceted advertising, merchandising, and promotional programs with all relevant retail accounts - Mass Merchant, Mid-Tier, and Specialty
• Identifies and exploits opportunities to open up new distribution channels (or accounts) for WWE consumer products including but not limited to home shopping, catalog, and on-line
• Ensures that priority WWE corporate or talent-related initiatives are integrated into retail marketing programs
• Prepare quarterly/ annual business reviews and present to senior management
• Create presentation materials for brand updates to licensees and global retail partners
• Work with the Marketing and Sales teams to assist in facilitating new contracts, managing existing contracts, and advising on new strategic opportunities.
• Liaise with internal departments to leverage and maximize assets and new opportunities
• Research competitive brands and companies to identify new business partnership opportunities
• Provide strategic leadership for global retailer marketing initiatives, positioning WWE as a leading entertainment licensing organization in the industry
• Develop global retail relationships at both senior management and buyer levels in order to drive profitable revenue growth through the development and execution of collaborative go-to market plans with key retailers
• Represent WWE at trade shows, meetings, and summits
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of related experience in the sports and/or entertainment licensing industry
• Experience, knowledge and a deep understanding of softline, hardline and toy categories
• Established leader with a proven record of accomplishments and success in building and managing successful, profitable global toy programs
• Strong contacts in the Licensing community
• Strong understanding and relationships with key retailers
• High level of initiative and flexibility, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed at all levels internally and externally
• Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively across all levels and disciplines
• Proven communication, negotiation, sales, and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to executive/senior level management
• Strategic thinker
• Detail oriented
• Willing and able to travel as needed for business purposes (approximately 30%)
• Bachelor degree required; MBA optional/preferred
