Job Description
Are you obsessed with social media, engaging readers, and growing audiences and traffic? Do you have an outstanding eye for trending news stories and viral content? Do you have a passion for digital content from breaking news to premium video?
MAKERS, the largest and most dynamic collection of women’s stories ever assembled, is looking for a social media fellow to join the fast-paced team to help grow traffic, engagement, and brand awareness.
You will work on a small and fast-paced team and have real responsibilities and an immediate impact from day one. You will be completely immersed in the world of social media and digital content, working to ensure all of our brands’ social media channels are pixel perfect to grow our audience, traffic, engagement, and brand awareness on a large scale.
Responsibilities:
1. COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT:
# Moderate MAKERS social channels across platforms:
# Community engagement
# Social inboxes
# Moderate and curate user generated content
# Nurture brand advocates and influencers
2. SOCIAL QA
# Prep, schedule, and publish social posts across channels, including:
# Twitter
# Instagram/InstaStories
# Facebook
# Linkedin
# Tumblr
# Pinterest
# YouTube
3. SOCIAL ANALYTICS
# Build/support development of social reports across all platforms
# Identify top content, trends, and insights (quantitative and qualitative)
# Measure community inquiries
4. CONTENT CREATION
# Produce social copy and respond to community in real-time
# Develop/support EPK package for talent and partners
# Support live content (e.g. live blog, tweet, stream)
# Create/curate social-first assets
Qualifications
• Recent graduates only.
• Passionate about social media, storytelling, communications, and digital.
• Interest in social media, communications, and PR.
• Strong communications skills and ability to write fun, informative social copy (a creative/ideas person).
• Hands-on experience using social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.
• Experience with social media and visual content creation -- everything from social quote cards and memes, to GIFS and short videos.
• Video production knowledge and experience a plus.
• Experience using tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Crowdtangle, Content Management Systems (CMS) and Photoshop is a plus.
