Purpose of the role:
To manage the deployment of our examiners, moderators and verifiers, known as Assessment Associates (AAs), to assessment roles in a given area. To be responsible for ensuring that sufficient AAs are contracted to meet target requirements for all areas that the Contract & Allocations Co-ordinator is responsible.
Key Accountabilities
• Taking responsibility for a given area from across the range, to manage and facilitate the contracting, deployment and allocation of AAs for each period of work, in line with forecast requirements and to tight deadlines.
• To assess requirements and despatch sufficient contracts to ensure full coverage of the area is achieved by the target date, following up non-replies and ‘topping-up’ to cover AA withdrawals.
• To be the customer facing contact for the subject areas responsible for. • To build a collaborative relationship with each of the stakeholders in that designated area of responsibility
• To lead, and work with, the seasonally contracted Deployment workforce to meet KPIs and deadlines
• There may also be a requirement to become involved in a specialised area, such as the deployment of visiting examiners for Drama, PE and Modern Foreign Languages, or the deployment of non-AA activity to serve other Pearson projects and ventures.
• To maintain a customer service focus on the relevant AA group, managing the relationship from the list of available examiners through to standardisation, and re-standardisation if required. This will involve responsibility for maintaining and updating records using different database systems and responding to queries, both directly and via the Customer Relationship Management system.
• Proficiency needs to be established with various systems including Gateway, iSeries and Business Objects to ensure that all information is correct and up to date, so that the interface with other interdependent systems is secure.
• Assisting with additional or ad hoc contracting during busy times or to cover during absence
• Assisting colleagues within the Deployment team with their workload during peak times.
• Liaison will be required with other areas of the business in order to achieve business objectives.
Background Information:
Operational Services are responsible for the provision of human and physical resources to facilitate academic and vocational assessment processes. The department consists of 95 team members and delivers against recruitment, contracting, allocation, training, payment, training and development and content production objectives. Key Challenges This role is business-critical and covers an essential phase in the successful delivery of each contracting period. Team members need to remain focused while working to tight deadlines, yet also need to be sufficiently flexible to manage the varying priorities, meeting deployment targets while answering customer queries, acting as a subject-specific contact while responding to urgent situations that frequently arise during the examination period etc. The role’s tasks are subject to change over time as the business evolves.

Education, Qualifications & Training:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (Desirable)
• Must have 3 A Levels (Grades A - C) (Essential)
• Must have 5 GCSEs (Grades A - C) including English and Maths (Essential)
Previous Work Experience:
• Experience of working in constantly changing environment and ability to multi task. (Essential).
• Experience of dealing with confidential Information (Essential)
Technical Knowledge:
• Awareness of Pearson's business and general education issues (Desirable).
IT Literacy:
• Intermediate MS Word and MS Excel (Essential)
• Use of databases (Essential)
• Familiarity with Google Documents (Desirable)
