Bloomberg runs on data and technology. In Global Data, we're responsible for supplying it to help answer our clients' questions. We manage data processes to help our clients use our data to solve problems such as how to measure the risk of monsoons in Vietnam, so clients looking to invest in agriculture there can make more informed decisions, or how to measure the real wealth of people in Venezuela, for clients who want to open stores in South America. We normalize data so teams here can turn it into insights for our users.
Global Data's 3rd Party Indices team is looking for enthusiastic and innovative individuals to be a part of our team. In this role, analysts interact and build relationships with the world's largest index providers, and contribute to the dissemination of superior information that aids financial professionals in their decision making process. You will be working on improving coverage, timeliness, and quality of critical data sets like Bloomberg Barclays Indices, Merrill Lynch, and other Fixed Income benchmarks around the world.
We'll trust you to:
• Leverage your project management skills to run large initiatives and build and maintain relationships both internally with different departments and externally with our third party index providers
• Work in an environment where you'll use your analytical abilities to improve the coverage and quality of the index database by on-boarding, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the Index product
• Take ownership of your initiatives and see them through to completion
• Execute on key deliverables for PORT (Portfolio Analytics) as it relates to migration of POINT clients and other related projects
You need to have:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting
• 2-3 years of proven professional experience leveraging your data analysis skills; preferably in an indices environment
• Excellent written, communication, presentation and networking skills
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship building skills
• Solid project management skills and prior experience managing stakeholders
• Prior experience or strong knowledge and understanding of financial markets- Attention to detail and accuracy when working under pressure
• Advanced excel skills
We'd love to see:
• Knowledge in information technology and statistical analysis or computer programming (for example SQL, VBA, Python, Regex)
• Prior experience working with of financial markets data; preferably in Fixed Income
