Overall Summary:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) currently distributes transactional digital content in more than 100 countries to digital retailers such as iTunes, PlayStation Network, Amazon, and many others including direct-to-consumer services such as Ultra 4K movies and Sony Pictures Store.
As a part of SPHE’s Commercial team enabling a $350MM global business, the Digital Strategy, Platforms & Services team drives growth of Sony Pictures digital content distribution through enhancement of the Digital Supply Chain, as well as Digital Products in partnership with distribution customers. Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Digital Client Services, the Manager will focus on key, complex production processes including Residential VOD, 4K Ultra-HD, Digital Extras, and the next-generation of workflow and data-management processes. The Manager will interface with key stakeholders including key personnel from digital retailers, studio peers, IT, Global Mastering and Servicing, Sales, Marketing Operations and more.
Responsibilities:
• Internal Systems Optimization and “Disruption”
◦ Constant improvement of processes through innovation and process enhancements focusing on out of the box thinking and leveraging industry standards
• Extras Production and Project Management
◦ Optimize SPHE’s critical Product Development and Production processes around Extra and bonus content for customers such as iTunes, Comcast, Amazon, Vudu and more
• 4K Ultra-HD Process Development, Production and Project Management
◦ Take action to identify and implement long-term, systems-based solutions with the goals of aligning 4K workflows with those existing for HD and SD, and reducing any need for manually created documentation and workflow triggers
◦ Incubate internal 4K knowledge repository, providing value as 4K subject-matter expert.
• Residential VOD Process Enhancement
◦ Shepherd end to end process improvements for key Domestic customers including Comcast, Dish, INDEMAND who require custom management
• Day-to-day tactical-level support of SVP and ED for one-off projects or data requests
Requirements:
• 4-6 years studio, media supply chain and/or Digital distribution experience
• Strong skillset in understanding and working with technology
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
• Skilled communicator – interpersonal, verbal and written
• Able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in priority and/or direction easily
• Flexible and adaptable with an appetite for implementing positive change
• Strong relationship builder with excellent customer service skills
• Self-starter who can be effective with minimal supervision
• Demonstrable comfort communicating with management, Business and customer contacts
• Working knowledge of digital supply chain (XML, video encoding, workflow management systems)
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Problem solving ability
