Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief, Bon Appétit
The Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for providing administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief of Bon Appétit, as well as providing support for the editorial staff at large.
General responsibilities include:
• Provide administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief including:
• Calendar management including coordinating and supporting all internal and external meetings. Strategizing EIC’s schedule and time, making judgment calls about how to prioritize everyone’s needs as they relate to the EIC, solving potential issues before they become real issues
• Helping think and talk through workplace flow and dynamics (as someone with a birds eye view of the brand)
• Answering the phone
• Booking all aspects of travel
• Managing all business related expenses
• Taking notes in meetings
• Having an understanding of the overall flow of production and helping everything run smoothly
• A ton of other random tasks that come up throughout the day, from ordering supplies to shipping things to running errands
• Help organize staff events
• Contribute to the magazine and website when time allows
Requirements:

• Strategic thinker
• Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to anticipate needs and have extreme follow-through
