Job TitleDigital Producer
This person is the day-to-day hands-on producer of WNEM’s website, app(s), social media platforms, and other digital platform efforts. This includes writing, editing, gathering (including interviews) and posting of stories, videos, slideshows and breaking news. This person will also be responsible for updating, maintaining and monitoring the social media account(s) of WNEM-TV. Curate and remove content from Company website(s), social media account(s) and other digital platforms. Livestream content/events, create and send out alerts on all digital platforms.
In addition, this person is responsible for maintaining the overall look and feel of the site as determined by the station. Will work with reporters, assignment desk, photographers and producers on getting the latest content on multiple platforms. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to increase viewership/traffic on Company website(s) and social media sites. This is a very high pressure, ever-changing, deadline-focused environment.
Essential Job Functions:
45%-Writing, editing, gathering (including interviews) and posting content to the Station website(s). This includes stories, video clips and slideshows.
25%-Managing, monitoring, responding, and posting to the Station’s social media account(s) and website(s).
15%-Curate and remove content from Company website(s), social media account(s) and other digital platforms. Keeping overall site up to date, coordinating special projects and events, working with staff members to assist with writing, editing, and posting
10%Creating new content, brand extensions. Livestream content/events, create and send out alerts on all digital platforms.
5%Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to increase viewership/traffic on Company website(s). Coordinate with sales and creative services to create and post content on all digital platforms. Other duties as assigned by News Management.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements - All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and/or experinece. Training in HTML a plus.
Experience:
Minimum two years related work experience in areas such as news writing and editing, video editing preferred. Ideal candidate will have web experience with web content management system (CMS), Photoshop or other photo-editing software. Experience with social media, I-News and Avid would also be a plus.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Journalism, social media and ability to write quickly, basic journalism skills, ability to complete multiple projects under tight deadlines. Familiar with AP Stylebook. Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record.
% of Travel Required - Up to 5% local area only.
