PYR - Marketing Manager / Associate Manager
The Penguin Young Readers School and Library Marketing department is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager/Marketing Manager. This person will be one of six members on the School & Library marketing team. He/she will assist in all educational and library conference planning, spearheading the planning of ILA, AASL, PLA, and select regional conferences. This person will also plan in-house librarian previews, submit books for national awards including YALSA, coordinate YA galley mailings, and help the team to develop new strategies to reach teachers and librarians.
Responsibilities include:
• Brainstorming and supporting the execution of marketing plans
• Creating PowerPoint presentations for Book Buzzes
• Submission of all books to national award committees
• Providing support on all national and regional conferences, including travel 6-8 times a year
Qualifications:
• At least 4 years of book publishing experience is highly preferred.
• Event-planning experience is a plus.
• Candidate should be detail oriented and highly motivated with good written and oral communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to multi-task, and handle a heavy workload with tight deadlines.
• Interest in and enthusiasm for children’s literature, particularly in the school and library field
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
