The Strategic Planning team will develop a compelling strategic platform for The Bridge Studio’s creative to exist on, using the Insight and Data we have in-house, and available desk-based tools.
Data drives insight, Insight drives ideas and ideas drive execution; the Strategic Planning team is the engine that helps drives this process and along with the Planning Director will shape and run this new department, as well as develop and iterate the processes and tools required.
What are my Responsibilities & Accountabilities
As part of a business restructure this brand new position has been created within Bridge Studios, making it an excellent opportunity for the right person to become a crucial part of the business where you can really add value and make the role your own within this busy and successful team.
The role requires the ability to genuinely analyse and challenge the advertising brief. To use the available information within the AIA department (Insight Audience Analytics) in order to articulate valuable insights (not just a basic observation) and inform the Strategic Framework/ Organising Thought, using the Audience Emotion Motivation (AEM) planning process.
This is crucial to develop and shape the creative idea in collaboration with Solutions, Sales/ Agency/ Client Team, Creative and Project Management, and ensuring the creative direction/ brief answers the client objectives.
The Strategic Planner will also have a good understanding of the creative and media landscape, comms planning and the owned and earned audience that News UK can deliver to clients.
The Strategic Planning Team sits at the intersection of data, insight, commercial and creative and must be platform and brand agnostic.
Useful knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
• 3-8 years experience at agency/ media owner
• Multi-media channel planning
• Knowledge of desk-based tools such as TELMAR, TGI
• Understanding of how to use multiple data sources to drive Insight
• Good command of written English and an eye for detail
• Paid, Owned, Earned

• Media owner/ publishing/ content creation knowledge
• SEO

• Creative and curious outlook - clear desire to learn
• Agile and accurate – we sometimes work to very tight deadlines and quick-thinking (but correct) first draft work is vital
• Dealing with pressure and multiple stakeholders will also be vital, so we need people who are also comfortable with communication and interaction with commercial team and external clients when required.
• Not afraid to challenge or ask “Why?” Or “Why not?!”
