Sr Digital Project Manager Eurosport
Position Summary:
The Digital Programme Manager will oversee the activies of each product vertical ensuring projects run efficiently, are cost effective and delivered on time, working closely with team leads and scrum masters in each area. This is a newly created role within the Eurosport Digital team, who are tasked with creating and delivering the new subscription-based consumer OTT platform.
The Programme Manager will track timelines and delivery plans across multiple projects within the digital space, helping to planning and managing all aspects of development, facilitating cross-team collaboration and supervising the work of a team of Delivery Managers/Scrum Masters as well as external partners. They will provide insight and accountability for the management teams leading this work, and aid the growth and development of the team, helping to install best practice.
Responsibilities:
• Planning:
◦ Work collaboratively to translate product objectives into a cohesive plan and delivery schedule, feeding into project lifecycle. Support the definition of responsibilities and direction-setting within delivery teams.
◦ Create and maintain plans and project plans, working with delivery teams to provide clarity on delivery timescales to key stakeholders.
◦ Develop project proposals and statements of work leveraging experience of key discipline leads (including Consulting, Concept & Design, Experience Architecture, Technology).
◦ Deliver projects to margin agreed at project start. Identify project risks and countermeasures needed.
◦ Contribute to the best-practice use of Agile methodologies within the Eurosport Digital organisation.
◦ Ensure best-practice process is followed, coordinating work-flow and implementing the right solutions for continuous delivery
• Stakeholder and Financial Management:
◦ Tracking and reporting on project status to stakeholders and the wider business
• Manage the expectations, negotiation and communication with project stakeholders while tracking budgets associated with your team(s).
• Leadership:
◦ Set up and develop a new Digital Delivery function, bringing best practice and tried and tested methodologies to the Digital team
• Provide Day to day leadership for a team of project managers / SCRUM Masters.
• Demonstrates leadership skills in addressing delivery and performance issues and undertake tasks to build team morale
◦ Coach and develop key team members. Ensure team collaboration & positive environment
Requirements:
• SCRUM practitioner accreditation
• Extensive experience in project management and delivery management methodologies including both Waterfall and Agile. A good understanding of how they are used to deliver products and services at scale
• Has managed and led a Project Manager/Scrum team using Agile principles. You will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of digital development.
• Experience of delivering and managing large scale digital projects for large organisations or brands, with a focus on customer-facing developments and product launches.
• Previous experience in OTT, VOD, SVOD and/or ecommerce platforms preferred
• Strong experience working in multi-functional teams eg – Business Analysis, QA, Development, UX etc
• Experience working with an International or European remit is an advantage.
• Ability to work within a start-up environment, to think strategically and operate autonomously.
• Can articulate best practice Project Management methodologies – processes, practices, controls, team management, project delivery phases
• Ability to manage third parties and external resources
• Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills. You will be the point of contact on projects from leaders within the business, so the ability to deal with stakeholders from any background linear and digital regardless of seniority is important.
