Job description
This role will give the successful candidate exposure to working with and buying wines and spirits from wineries and business groups around the world.
The Candidate will ideally be WSET qualified with analytical, commercial and organisational skills. The candidate must be energetic, highly driven, self-motivated, and with the ability to work under pressure and multitask. Candidates from other industries will be considered where they can demonstrate good commercial acumen and transferable skills.
As a Wine & Spirits Buyer, you will need a minimum of 3 years buying experience and you will be responsible for:
• Selecting and buying wines and Spirits from Wineries around the world
• Working with the Head Buyer developing the portfolio ensuring its market relevance and identifying future trends.
• Benchmarking prices and products to ensure we remain competitive and a trend leader.
• Taking full responsibilities for managing pricing data.
• Ownership of order processing and liasing closely with the Operations/Logistics Team.
• Working in collaboration with the operations team to identify and deliver cost efficienicies.
• Coordinating samples and benchmarking tastings.
• Communicating and negotiating with internal and external clients.
• Working with QA when appropriate
