Creative Producer, Live Action
Job Description
The Creative Production Group is the internal marketing and creative production agency for A+E Television Networks.
This role is for the person who wants to stretch beyond execution and is itching to expand their creative footprint. The Creative Producer role is hybrid creative & production hands-on role responsible for the development and execution of video shoots in the Marketing Department from inception to delivery. This includes live-action marketing shoots, event shooting, and special projects. Working hand-in-hand with the creative team, the Creative Producer must be able to approach projects from both a creative and production standpoint and will be required to provide creative input throughout the process. They will need to conceptualize shoots, brainstorm concepts, and even direct on occasion, but also be flexible enough to creatively support other’s doing the same (in-house & out of house Directors). For each project, the Creative Producer will have the flexibility to make the best production & creative recommendation for a given project. Creative Producer must line-producing experience as they might be required to produce smaller projects (hiring and negotiating crews, securing locations, wardrobe, set design, etc…). The Creative Producer will need to create and maintain strong relationships within the industry and be ready to propose the best talent for a given project.
Qualification Requirements
Candidate must have a creative and production background with strong shoot production expertise, ability to mold well with different personalities, polished around talent, and have experience production managing or line-producing. To be successful, the candidate must be very well organized, creative, a succinct communicator, team player, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously.
• Total 4+ years in a live-action/field production role (production coordinator, production manager, line-producer, or producer type role) with 2+ years in a creative role, ideally creating commercial, short-form, or promo content for on-air or digital. Reel required.
• Experience overseeing a project from start to finish.
• Must be a strong team player, vocal without being overbearing, and with a creative eye for producing visual material.
• Must feel comfortable supporting and collaborating with both experienced and less experienced directors & producers.
• Must be able to work weekends and late nights during production windows with an ability to handle high volumes of complex projects and tasks.
• Must be comfortable traveling with short notice.
• Must be able to work independently, make smart decisions, and think strategically with an attention to detail.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and effective time management to communicate effectively with internal and external teams.
• Must feel comfortable representing the network to outside talent, executives, and show-producers.
• Must feel comfortable tackling creative opportunities as they arise (interviewing talent, producing promos & commercials).
• Ideal candidate also has post production experience.
