The HR Operations Communications Analyst is a hands-on delivery focused role that is responsible for partnering with enterprise operations and program leaders to plan, develop, integrate, execute, and manage internal communications for BAU operations and project operations. This is a fun role and we are looking for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast paced demanding environment.
We’re looking for someone who’s willing to dig deep into details and deliver tactical change and communication plans as well as be able to see the big picture and work through ambiguity to ensure operations and project communications are adopted successfully. There is a lot to learn in this multi-faceted role, and the successful candidate will know how to get things done, be flexible and adaptive to change, and bring your own ideas about how to help us communicate more efficient and effective every day. Integration of change, operations, and other communications is a key activity.
Who will rely on you? As the communications hub inside HR operations, our teams of operations and program managers rely and depend on the analyst for organizing and running our operational and delivery communications. Ultimately, our operations and projects are more effective because of the role the analyst will play in managing operations communications.
Who will direct your work? The analyst is part of our global HR Operations team reporting to the head of HR program management and will have a dotted line to the head of internal employee communications. You’ll also partner with, work with, support, and learn from a wide range of operations leaders, program managers, HR leaders, and corporate communications managers.
What will you do every day? The HR Operations communications analyst responsibilities include joining operations and program teams to lead, plan, develop, and integrate multiple change, communications, training workstreams for global enterprise wide HR operations and programs. The core responsibilities fall into 3 key areas:
Partnership:
• Partner with internal HR Communications team to align and integrate our operations, programs and projects to enterprise wide communication strategies and plans.
• Partner with operations and program leaders to develop and execute change management and training strategies that deliver successful operations and program outcomes.
• Partner with stakeholders, internal customers, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to embed organizational change management in plans and activities to drive effective engagement within teams and impacted customers.
• Improve the impact of all communications by coaching on best practices, communications planning, available communications channels, formatting, etc.
Planning:
• Own, design, plan and develop effective program and project plans for change management, communications, stakeholder management, and training.
• Integrate change and communications plans across all workstreams and identify risks, vulnerabilities, and improvement opportunities.
• Escalate issues and risks as appropriate to senior management.
• Manage program logistics and administration (leveraging coordinator resources).
• Manage communication channels including websites, and collaboration spaces.
• Establish and maintain communication development and approval processes.
• Understand and utilize methods to track and measure success (e.g., surveys, dashboard reports, etc.) of project and communications activities based upon collected metrics and refresh approach accordingly.
Execute and deliver:
• Execute agreed project plans, timelines, milestones and key methods for driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of operational changes, program/projects, recognizing and managing dependencies between other projects and/or initiatives.
• Effectively use, analyze and enhance employee communication channels and tools, implementing new and innovative approaches to extend reach and impact.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards for communications as appropriate.
• Develop a network of change and communications professionals across Pearson to ensure decision support and leverage best practices.
• Produce creative, high-quality, impactful, and compelling communications for employees across multiple channels and formats including presentation materials, dashboards, executive updates, and other stakeholder and change management communications.
• Content and copy development of all messaging to customers, using online spaces, training materials, FAQs, readiness and implementation toolkits that support adoption and/or implementation of plans.
• Synthesizes and translates project management and technical jargon or complex content into simple messages and mainstream language mostly through presentations leveraging graphic content skills to develop turn complex messages into simple stories.
• Responsible for event channels and logistics planning of key customer events including presentations and briefings on site and mostly using virtual meeting tools like WebEx.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related area required.
• Experience in change management and communications role required.
• Communications or change management certification preferred.
• Experience with global large scale communications and change management projects.
• Experience with strategic and tactical change and communication support.
• Experience applying proven organizational change management methods desired.
• Experience integrating change management practices in project plans.
• Experience with developing actionable and targeted change management plans to include communication, coaching, sponsor, training, and resistance management.
• Understand business and operations processes and build change impact assessments.
• Delivery focus, with ability to translate change impact assessments into executable plans and achieve objectives via influence of others in a matrix organization.
• Demonstrated ability to provide support during high-pressure situations, remaining calm and focused under pressure.
• Strong writing and editing skills (writing samples will be requested in interview process).
• Work self-directed with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Manage competing, high-priority demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible when presented with shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Some technical HR knowledge to enable easy translation of HR language for a non-technical audience.
• Global mindset and cultural awareness to ensure effective messaging campaign.
